We are happy to share one of the most meaningful developments in our work at the end of 2025— the launch of a support group for displaced women who regularly visit our Art Room.
This summer, several members of our team completed the “Overcoming hardship” training, a program focused on practical tools for emotional and spiritual care. The training addressed how to support oneself and others in navigating the deep wounds caused by tragic events and difficult life circumstances. It was a valuable experience for our team both personally and professionally, equipping us to better walk alongside those we serve.
Inspired by what we learned, we felt strongly that many women in our community needed a dedicated space where they could share, be heard, and begin healing together. So we invited women from our Art Room to join a small support group.
Our first meeting was centred around getting to know one another. In that circle, we listened as the women shared pieces of their stories — stories shaped by loss, displacement, fear, and the heavy realities of the ongoing war. Their words carried deep pain, yet also remarkable resilience.
But amid the grief, we also heard something else: hope, gratitude, relief that they now have a place where they feel safe, understood, and not alone.
For us, this group is not only a place of emotional care, but also a gentle opportunity to share the love of Christ — to show God’s compassion in practical ways and to speak about the One who heals hearts and restores lives.
As we continue to lead these meetings, we kindly ask you to pray for us:
for God’s love to be felt deeply through every conversation, every moment of listening, and every gesture of care.
